I would have given this cruise a good rather than very good but feel that the two reviews so far have been extremely negative .
Food: I actually found the food good and pretty varied in the main dining room. I do think that msc have cut back on staff making service sometimes rather slow. The waiting staff that we had were friendly. I enjoyed the buffet breakfasts although getting a seat was sometimes a problem.
Entertainment : The evening entertainment was pretty varied NOT the crew fooling around; it comprised a few classical concert, also popular music and dancing and even a comedian.I would agree thoughm that there are certain members of the entertainment staff who do tend to fool around with each other and are very irritating! If you like dancing though there are LOTS of dancing lessons.

No problems with the cabin- an inside cabin is what it is! Very nice cabin steward

Venice
Venice is Venice; it's great.
Katakolon (Olympia)
Loved this port. Unlike many other ports you could just walk off the ship and into the village where there was a bus to Olympus. Olympus was really interestins and beautifully situated
Athens (Piraeus)
Enjoyed taking the hop on hop off bus into Athens. You can take it right from the port.
Crete (Heraklion)
Gnossos was interesting and it was good to wander round Heraklion.
Salalah
Not a lot here. We took a taxi into the town. There is actually a nice beach just near where the boat docks. Worth finding out about. We only found it because the taxi driver took us there on the way back.
Muscat
I think it was here that the hop on hop off bus was ....€70 !!! A ridiculous price. We got driven about by a nice taxi driver who took pictures inside the mosque for me. A pleasant trip but not much scope to wander round
Khasab
Loved Khasab. Beautiful fjord type scenery. We took a lovely boat trip with a local guide who was very interested in the dolphins and made a special effort to hang back as the other boats were heading to shore to let us see the dolphins again and we were rewarded by them following us! Also you can actually walk to the museum and a big supermarket.
Dubai
Well, you love or loathe Dubai and I was the latter especially the glitzy motor-car- is king modern centre . At least Dubai drivers are considerate though. The museum is excellent and I did like the old(ish) part .
