We have taken many cruises and have been on most of the lines. I don’t expect Princess to be in the ranks of Crystal, but certainly should be better then Carnival since it is their “Premiere” line.
First of all the ship is old and just came out of dry dock so we expected it to be updated. The only upgrade is the room key and hallway monitors which seemed high tech. Other then that the cruise was horrible. The room creaked and cracked at any wave. We thought the window was going to fall off. We had difficulty sleeping 4 of the seven nights.
Don’t expect to get any work done. The internet service was a joke. Barely any connection and at their prices they internet should work flawlessly. For example, to get an email takes 5 minutes of time.
Also their cellular at sea is horrible too. Barely any connection. Satellites need updating for sure.
Food was marginal at best. Maybe a 5. Not terrible but not as good as Celebrity and also not even as good as Carnival, their less glamorous line. Service was bad too. Seemed like the staff was doing you a favor to serve you. Food the last couple of days in the dining room was better so it seems they save that for the last day or two to help the reviews. Don’t expect to be amazed.
Burgers were not so good on the deck and if you want a decent burger, they charge 5 dollars. And that burger is not even that great. It’s not the money, it’s the point. On Carnival they have Excellent burgers on deck for FREE. How hard is it to make a burger?
In the international cafe they even charge you for simple Coffee. What? I get that if you want a latte they charge you but black coffee? Come on. Seems they are only concerned about making the extra money rather then making passengers happy.
Don’t think I’ll be taking another Princess Cruise again.
