Starting with , what we felt was a scam....
1. Having checked and double checked we did not require visas for a port call in Shanghai China 17/11/18. ( Clear reports from travel correspondents, government info and the cruise company itself stated we did not need visas for a tourist entry for the one day port call )
When we got close to the visit day we were informed , we needed a visa or had to be booked with a Chinese government agreed official tour company or yes you guessed it a Celebrity X cruise excursion, which are very expensive but we had no option as we wanted to see the country / city.
