This cruise had the best entertainment of any previous Princess cruise. It would be hard to improve upon it. The food however, even in the "upscale" restaurants was poor. Something very wrong has occurred with the food selection and preparation on this ship. The safety drill was not adequate as life jackets were no longer required to be carried to the Muster Stations. Too many people were not paying attention to the instructions about how to put on life jackets. If passengers are not required to actually put on life jackets, this is a safety issue and panic will occur if life jackets are needed due to an emergency. I incurred $387.94 medical expenses due to an accident. A mid-ship elevator closed on my hand. I received adequate medical care and had to wear a wrist/hand brace for 12 days. An older woman was backing out of the elevator in a wheelchair and her can was beginning to drag on the floor. I thought the elevator door was going to close on the cane and placed my hand between the doors assuming the safety sensor would immediately open the door. The door closed on my hand and then, immediately opened. The cane was not closed on and the woman was not hurt. The elevator doors should be replaced with rubber "bumpers" that would lesson the above accident. We liked the larger TV's in our cabin but the TV placement was an accident in the making. From the picture I've attached you can see how easy it is to hit your head on the corner of the TV when coming into the cabin from the balcony. This is a safety issue that needs to be improved upon.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BB

Cabin was adequate and liked the larger TV. Unfortunately, the TV was mounted in such a way to pose a danger when entering the cabin from the balcony. My wife and I hit the corner of the TV a few times. This is a safety issue in some cabins that should be immediately looked into. Not requiring passengers to physically bring their life jackets to the muster stations is a safety issue. The safety presentation took long to begin and without the actual life jackets to put on, many passengers were talking and not paying attentions to instructions. Another safety issue occurred when I tried to stop a mid-ship elevator door from closing as an older woman was backing out of the elevator in a wheelchair. A cane was beginning to drag that was being held in her lap and I thought the door was going to close on it. I immediately put my right hand in the door opening assuming the door sensor would trigger the safety and the door would immediately open. It closed on my hand and then opening very quickly. The onboard medical expenses for treatment was $387.94. I received excellent care but had to wear a wrist/hand brace for 12 days.
