We chose this ship because like most other cruisers we love Celebrity and wanted to check the new ship out. This is a five star, beautiful ship but completely different than other Celebrity ships, which it should be. As with all things, change is hard and people are creatures of habit. That being said, below are the notable differences that may be helpful to hear in advance.

1. There is no longer a grand foyer area. It is called the grand plaza but it’s basically a large martini bar with plenty of seating. It takes the place of a dance floor area also. Also, it’s not open as to where all the floors can look down, I think you can only see two floors up. This area seems to serve as the gathering area for drinks before and after dinner. There is also no more gastro pub, wine bar, or rendezvous lounge. I did miss the rendezvous lounge, that was my favorite.

2. The new bar Eden is just bizarre. Perhaps I am not as trendy as some people but this place is just weird. The drinks are very pricey ( and we had a drink package) and they have caveman and fairies running around. I didnt get it, or care to be there. The space is so beautiful, I personally thought they could have an awesome bar without the silliness. Although little kids would probably love the caveman and fairies so perhaps let them play hide and seek in the daycare instead of the adults.
