2018 Mexican cruise

The drive from My house, Central western Nevada to Long Beach was a very uneventful drive until reaching the LA basin where at 4:00pm-ish traffic was horrendously miserable bumper to bumper traffic but was steadily moving with virtually no stop and go. Reaching our destination of the Inn of Long Beach. The hotel was nothing to call home about, but by the same token, was clean with friendly staff. The walk to a place to eat was enjoyable with no problems as far as finding a place to eat. There were restaurants galore! We chose Dave’s Smokehouse where everybody pretty much ordered different meals. I ordered the salad as I am on a typical post heart attack diet. The salad was very large with a clump of shredded pork centered on the pile of lettuce. The salad had no salad dressing, so I assumed I was supposed to mix everything together. I mixed and shoveled a big ole bite down the gullet. The meat almost tasted bad, thinking it was me, I tried another bite, just a bit smaller and yes, it didn’t taste quite right. So I attempted separating the two and requested salad dressing. Back to the hotel for a good nights sleep and off to cruising! Not so fast though. The hotel pillows aren’t made for belly sleepers! Could not sleep what so ever. (Anticipation of the cruise couldn’t have anything to do with it, or could it...LOL)Tossed and turned all night giving myself a very sore neck. Morning couldn’t come quick enough. Finally morning daylight starts creeping over the horizon, we load everything back up. 8:00am and we head off to park as we’ve heard that parking sometimes takes up to 45 minutes. We pull into the parking structure and walla! the first available non-reserved or handicap parking spot! Ok that didn’t go bad at all. We walk over to the Queen Mary to have coffee and breakfast and wait for the line to the carnival terminal to open as we are FTTF.
