My first time not on an American cruise ship. I have been on Princess, Celebrity and Seaborne. My husband is Italian so thought we would try Fascinosa out of Savona (Genoa). We got a suite, which gives you the Intenditore all inclusive drinks package and access to the 11 floor dining room, which is fabulous. Great food and service. All for about half price of American cruise lines. We loved the Med cruise especially the stay in Ibiza where we took ferries ourselves to the beaches in Formentera. Very easy to take yourselves to the beaches via ferry. A terrific experience. But yes, it is European. Know that in Naples you can take a cab to almost any site for a private tour! But we enjoyed the tour via Costa in Palermo. We did a mix of taking Costa tours and traveling on our own. In Barcelona it was easy to walk to the shopping areas on our own and just fabulous.
Our suite was clean and had a lovely view. We were quite happy especially that all suite come with the all-inclusive drink package and upgrade to the better 11th floor dining room.
Easy boarding.
Easy to grab a cab and take a tour. It's what we did because our tour to the Reggia di Caserta was canceled for lack of interest (!) But it is the Versailles of Italy! So we grabbed a cab and for less than the price of the tour you get a private ride to the castle and tour it yourself while the cab waits. Fabulous!
We took a ferry by our ourselves to Formentera and a can to an out of the way beach with one restaurant. Shhhh don't tell anyone how fabulous it was.
Amazing city to walk around and enjoy. Fabulous shopping too.
Walk from the ship to Las Ramblas. Find the Boqueria market on your left and enjoy.
