Started in Puerto Rico for our Eastern Caribbean cruise.

We were lucky to enjoy great weather. We enjoyed all ports with the exception of St. Thomas. Royal used to dock close to town but has elected to move to the commercial docks. The walk from the ship to town is now 60 minutes or more (depending on your speed) on a very narrow sidewalk close to the edge of the road, so you are always wondering if you will be clipped by the drivers. Further, because they have not heard of road sweepers, the cars on this busy route pelt you with dirt, so you and your clothes are filthy when you get back to the ship! Royal should either provide funds to improve the walkway to town from the commercial dock, or better yet, tie up at the other dock.

We've noticed there seem to be a lot fewer crew on board, which means those present are running full tilt all the time! Individual crew members are just outstanding ... great people who work hard to satisfy the passengers.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony

Cabin 2D

Great location! We choose our cabin to get the biggest possible deck. Our space permitted a lounger in addition to the normal two deck chairs and table.

Cabin accoutrements are getting tired - the bed and love seat definitely showing their age, bathroom faucets etc showing wear, etc.

Port Reviews

San Juan

We did back-to-back cruises. On the changeover day, we got our new seapass card and then decided to walk into Condado. Lots to do in Condado! Enjoyed the day!

Barbados

Walked over to Pirate's Cove. Have been there before, but more as an enroute stop rather than a destination. Had a terrific time!

St. Lucia

Went to Rodney Bay ... right at the end.

When we got there, we were the second couple and almost had individual attention. Good local vendors. Comfy chairs. Beach a little difficult to walk due the slant ... but very doable.

Antigua

Went to Valley Church Beach!

Definitely would go again.

Some parts of the beach are just "crushed shells" - tough on the feet. Continue down to the end and the sand is soft, the water warm and no real waves.

St. Thomas

Walked over to the other dock - more than three (3) miles. Poor sidewalk. At least one (1) mile was dangerous due very narrow sidewalk right beside a busy roadway. Very dirty. Very uncomfortable. Port still rebuilding after the hurricane ... great progress since Feb.

St. Maarten

Went to the main beach and chilled most of the day. Good time.
