Read many good things about Viking and wanted to try a different cruise line. The ship was beautiful. The passenger to size ratio was great. Never felt crowded. The light interiors were a welcome change from other lines we’ve cruised. Cabins were very nice. Loved the heated floor and mirror in the bathroom. Dining was mixed. We liked the World Cafe. Food was very good with lots of choices. The grill had a nice selection. Tea at the Wintergarden was enjoyable. We didn’t feel the main dining room functioned like a well oiled machine. Service was not smooth, the kitchen was very slow, and the food was average. The specialty restaurants were better. A poor first meal at the Italian restaurant was resolved with a second visit. Other than that the crew was excellent. The ship was great. The included excursions were very good. The tour guides were knowledgeable and very friendly. We’ll definitely do another cruise with Viking.
