This is NOT your typical HAL cruise. We have cruised HAL many times before and this entire trip was different and not in a good way. If you want an extremely affordable cruise, I think we paid $1600 for four in one room, then go with no expectations and you will be fine. UNDERSTAND THERE ARE NO ACTIVITIES or SHOWS ONBOARD - Ill talk about that below..

Please note, on this ship the Rotterdam is old and small. Not a big deal at all for us but its not your typical newer fancy ships, more of classical midsize cruising.

Pro, as always, is the food. We were happy with the selection on the Lido for all meals. The Dining room was pretty good and had good selections as well but we found ourselves going to the lido for dinner towards the end of the cruise because we didnt want to deal with the wait. Ice Creak was a huge hit and the asian/sushi was as well. The pool deck had a great Hamburger/Hot Dog and Fries station made to order as well as a huge fully stocked taco/nacho bar. It was fantastic.

Large Interior Stateroom

Cabin K

Impressed on the size and how much space we had. Obvious signs of aging and rust in bathroom but overall spacious and comfortable. Very small TV - beds comfortable - almost too much closet space.
