MARINA DECK STATEROOM M611 BALCONYEmbarkation was fast and efficient...We arrived a day earlier into Sydney and as we had to vacate our hotel at 11am we were allowed to embark as soon as we arrived at the ship (4 hours earlier than programmed by Princess). This ship being just over a year old was in top condition as would be expected. It was pleasing to find the showers had a never ending supply of hot water throughout the day and the pressure was excellent. The large square porcelain handbasin was more functional than the oval ones on most of the rest of the fleet. The stateroom was well appointed with a power point above the fridge that was 230 volts AC,(idea for Australasian guests) The television was a large flatscreen wall mounted with an ample supply of movies and news channels.Movies started at the beginning and could be paused to continue watching later. Our cabin steward was an Indian gentleman (Ronni) was great and nothing was too much trouble for him.He kept our room and bathroom spotless and was a fountain of knowledge The view from all balcony staterooms on the starboard side of Marina deck was unobstructed.Best to steer-clear of staterooms on the decks directly below the sea-walk on lower decks as guests on the sea-walk are able to look directly into the staterooms of the two decks below it.The food in the any-time dining area "Concerto" was preferred by us as similar food in the world- fresh marketplace was seldom hot.The pop-up Crab shack on two nights of the cruise was superb and well worth the $35 cover charge....Where do they get such massive crabs? The entertainment in the Theatre was excellent and better than I have experienced on the four other Princess vessels I have travelled on.

DOWNSIDES, Too few lifts in the centre of the vessel for the number of passengers on board,Happy hour has been dispensed with which used to be a cordial meeting place for friends to discuss their day ashore.Princess should rectify this as it was a huge discussion subject. No wheelhouse bar.The layout of the world-fresh marketplace is a maze and makes trying to relocate your table when returning with another plate an exercise in orientation.Diagrams?maps of the deck level outside the lifts are often East-West abeam instead of fore and aft thus making it difficult to ascertain where the stern and bow are in relationship to where you wished to go.
