This was our first Celebrity Cruise and though it would be a step up from others we had done, P&O, NCL, RCL, but what a disappointment, maybe it was the ship as it was very old. Thank goodness we and most other passengers had got a classic drinks package in with our cruise, the drinks if we had to purchase were extortionate. We visited Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Oman, Mumbai, Mangalore, Cochin and Goa. Never having visited India previously it was a shock to the system, Mangalore was a real industrial area with coal and dust everywhere, nothing to see, we ventured to the beach literally round the corner, but ladies cover up, we have never been stared at as much, full of local young men. The Celebrity trips again a real rip off, do your homework on trip advisor and book directly with the locals, you will save hundreds and they will benefit from your custom not the cruise ship.
The staff onboard were magnificent, as other have said, cabins really tired, despite a refurb last year, this was mainly common areas of the ship. The paid for restaurants were empty and not worth the extra money, we took a half price offer one evening in the Italian but not fantastic as food in the main dining room was excellent.
Entertainment was mainly at the expense of the guests, silly games etc. Not many big shows, pretty disappointing.
had one of the sweet 16 balconies at the front on the ship deck 6, very quiet, nice big balcony although cabin worn and small.
