"We have always toyed with the idea of a European River Cruise, but never thought we could afford it. We have always wanted to see Paris, but thought we could never afford it. We have always wanted to visit Prague, but thought we could never afford it. When we discovered that Viking offered a Cities of Light cruise, we couldn't pass it up - and we could afford it!

We started our cruise in Paris, where we opted for a two day extension. Viking was so organized that we knew what tours they were providing us several months in advance. Therefore, we were able to optimize our time there and take some extra excursions on our own prior to the included tours. This was great, and allowed us to do much more on our own. We toured the Catacombs, and the Eiffel Tower at night!

On our way to embarkation in Trier, Germany, we stopped in Luxembourg for a nice visit to the country and the American Cemetery, where Gen Patton in buried. As a retired US Navy officer, my wife and I were so appreciative for this side trip.
