We chose this cruise to be away from the home during Christmas and New Year. We felt that being with others celebrating this season would be more enjoyable than staying in a cold climate. Most of the cruise went smoothly from embarkation to debarkation, but there were a few times where Princess could have showed some improvement. First what I found disappointing was Christmas Dinner was served on Christmas Eve not Xmas Day. Food was quite good at most times. New use of World Class Buffet on LIdo, with a make to measure meals and extra seating space was a nice touch.
Negative: Bingo Games, 1st 3 games in session payout was pitiful. Casino seems to have shrunk, (Gambling was available with new medallion intranet) 25 cent slot machines were few and far between). Laundry facilities: could have use some improvement, Dryer in Caribe level 10 was not working smoothly, even when reported, took several days to repair. The soap and coin dispensers failed on two occasions and needed reporting to Passenger Services.
Entertainment: The shows put on by the Princess Dancers and Singers was very good. The guest performers were 'lame and sometimes very disappointing'.
Spacious, clean, well serviced. Mattress fairly firm, a little dry Humidity lacking. plenty of storage space.
Arrived in Martinique on Xmas Day. Most Everything was closed. Information provided by Ships shop-city guide was pre-recorded and did not change for the holiday hours.
