We always chose our cruises by itinerary and sometimes by when we want to go. This year we wanted someone else to do all the work for the holidays for us...ergo...a Holiday Cruise to a warm place..the Eastern Caribbean....
We arrived three days early, rented a car a went to Key West. After returning the car at Avis and taking their free shuttle to the ship,we stood in lines for embarkation. Being as there was close to 3000 passengers, embarkation went as well as could be expected.
The ship was keep “ship shaped” with only one flaw that I can think of....the automatic doors on the restrooms. I actually got knocked down by one closing on me. The food was really good. We were on the Aqua class and ate at Blu often. The maitra d knew our names and the staff, especially, Maria, were wonderful. One of the waiters on the last night brought me a bowl of steamed vegetables because he realized that I would not have been satisfied with the amount of vegetables that came with the main dish...all of our meals at Blu were exemplary. We also enjoyed the Spa Cafe for breakfast and lunch which offers lighter and healthier food. The MDR was good also, but we only had two dinners there. The specialty restaurants were exceptional, our favorite being Quisine and Morono. We also enjoyed the Tuscan grill and Shushi on Five. All the food was A or A+ except the buffet. We had one really good dinner there, but the lunches were not as good. The food tended to be over cooked and dry..especially the chicken kabobs...don’t even bother. All the people taking care of all the restaurants were wonderful, caring, and friendly.
Cabin was good. We were under the pool and deck, but only heard noise a couple of times ..chairs being moved at night and sometimes could hear noise during the day from the deck, but it really didn’t bother us much. The shower was remarkable...kinda like a shower bidet..LOL...There's room for two but could use more places to hang clothes...bring those sticky wall hangers...wish we did. Bed was comfortable. I got a little cold at night with the air on...which was needed...and David brought me another blanket....as I said...David from Honduras, is the best
