We often like to see in the New Year at sea and it's always a great party on the night. Loved the new Majestic Princess - a most beautiful ship. Before we sailed, we thought it might feel crowded with such a large number of passengers, but were pleasantly surprised to feel that we never felt overwhelmed by sheer numbers. There was always spaces available in the dining areas, bars, etc, and even in the Marketplace, we did not have to "fight for a seat". Staff were always ready to help and showed great enthusiasm for their work.

However, the theatre, which is great, only seats around 900 passengers, so we needed to be there at least 30 minutes beforehand to get a seat. The productions shows and other entertainers performing in the Princess Theatre were first class.

Our biggest disappointment was that Princess have increased their bar and wine list prices by about 50% over the past year. And the wine lists seem to have changed to a "one size fits all" approach - wherever in the world you are, it appears it will be the same list. Previously, the wine list reflected the area of the world they were cruising in, but on our cruise to New Zealand, there were very few local wines to choose from - with Australia and New Zealand being blessed with so many good wines, those that were included in the list were excessively marked up in price.
