My childhood friend and I did a January five day cruise on Celebrity Infinity and were very disappointed. I have been on four Celebrity cruises, and this was my friend’s first on X. First the good...We were in a Concierge cabin on Deck 8, and it was in a very good location. The entertainment was great. Our one meal in Tuscan Grille was exceptional in every way.

Now the bad...Our best meals in the main dining room were mediocre, and a couple were barely acceptable. The pool experience was terrible. We tried both sea days mid-morning to find a lounger by the pool, but were unable to. We tried to eat one lunch at the grill by the pool, but there were no tables and chairs. There are far too many passengers than there are spaces for them in the pool area. It’s no secret that people get to the pool in the very early mornings to reserve pool loungers, even though they may only spend an hour there. That should not be allowed and should be monitored by the pool personnel. There was a damp feeling all over the ship. We met two couples who had water leaking from their ceiling and getting into their carpet in their cabins. I am allergic to mold, and my asthma flared up about half the trip. The ship is run down and is in dire need of some TLC.

I have cruised on five different cruise lines, and this was, by far, the worst. We have always had great experiences on Celebrity, but we might try another cruise line next time.
