This was our 6th River Cruise on a Viking ship. We wanted to re-visit some of the cities in Germany and the Netherlands that we had been to previously. The Grand European Tour offered us just the right route. We loved the food on board the Longship - always a good variety and tasty options, and the "sit where you want to" policy suits us just fine. All of the other guests were well-traveled and offered suggestions as to what to see in various cities, and what other Vicing River Cruises we might enjoy.
We love the staff - always warm and friendly and helpful. We found the included panoramic city tours by bus to be a good introduction to the cities. We signed up for a number of optional tours to see sights that we had missed during prior travel. It was a great trip.The cabin was comfortable for us. The evening entertainment was enjoyable after a busy and tiring day of travel. We highly recommend this trip to all travelers.

Deluxe Stateroom
Comfortable and big enough for our needs. Plenty of storage room, and I love the refrigerator. The bathroom was always clean and the linens always fresh.

Miltenberg
We took the included Miltenberg Walking Tour. We stayed in the middle of town after the walking tour and visited a church on our own. The Church organist was practicing, so we got a free concert!
Wurzburg
We went to the Medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. A really beautiful, picturesque town. We also visited Wurzberg. Very enjoyable optional tour. Lunch was included. Well worth the tour.
Bamberg
We took the included walking tour. We enjoyed the town.
Nuremberg
We took the included tour. Then we went on our own to the A. Durer House (Museum). It was great .
Regensburg
We took the Munich Highlights optional tour. Very enjoyable.
Vienna
We enjoyed the city tour by bus
