The Harmony (Jan 2019) was in much better shape than the Allure (Jan 2018). I really did not see anything that made me say this is disgusting and needs to be replaced as I did all over the place on Allure last year. Now Allure may have gotten updates since then, but the Harmony was practically flawless for us. The main dining room food was good. The windjammer food was good. Mini bites food was good. Ice-cream was good. Nothing really jumped out at me like wow, but it was all fine I thought. My wife says it was just OK, not bad, but not good. Chops food I thought was great. I wanted to go to other specialty restaurants and Johnny Rockets, but there was only so much time.

Our room location was the absolute best ever, aside from last year when we got upgraded from a Jr Suite to a two-bedroom suite, but that looks like it will never happen again with Royal offering paid upgrades before the cruise. Still this room location was better. We were on deck six aft port side right behind the boardwalk. We had the ocean view balcony. It was a 30 second walk on the same floor to get to the board walk for a dog or a drink. Same to just get a drink in the Schooner bar. Down one level to be on the promenade. Up two levels to be in central park. I can not say how perfect this location was to be on the back of the ship and down low. You go straight up the elevators to windjammer. You go down one level to be in the main dining. We had a large group with us and four in the group were on the same floor in the same area and they all said the same thing. On an Oasis class ship that is the location to be in. One in our group was our travel agent, who of course has done many many many cruises as they are usually free for her and she kept saying that this was the best location she has been in. I was worried about being so low and in the back with engine/mechanical noise, but there was none. It was very nice to be on the lowest floor balcony and be that much closer to the water.

I thought the balcony view rooms had just what you needed, plenty of hanging space, I counted 28 hangers. Plenty of drawer and shelf space. The bathroom was just enough space. We like the layout with the bed by the balcony so that couch and floor space is by the bathroom, so there seems to be more floor space when you are getting dressed without the bed dividing the room in half. We both thought the cabin to be in perfect shape and my wife said this was the first time she did not feel the need to immediately clean everything. The room steward, Courtney, did a fantastic job. I even forgot my phone cable, it uses a USB-C cable and everything else we have uses the ‘normal’ usb mini plug. Courtney asked our neighbors to borrow one so I could get my phone charged up until we got off at our first port and I could be ripped off buying a cable there. Hey, I needed the cable to take pictures and text with others on board. First shop I found the cable they wanted $40 for the cable and I just walked out with them following be “but wait” I said there is not any reason to even negotiate with you, you are just trying to totally rip me off. We found a cable in the convenience store right at the dock in St. Martin for $13.99. I told Royal Caribbean they should have all the different cable in the photos area as they sell cameras and accessories there or in ship store, and they could make some good money on them. Also, a side note, they should sell beer and cup Royal Caribbean cozies at all the bars and they would make a killing on those. Have them that fit the beer pints, and bottle, and glasses. I digress.

Cabin Ocean View Balcony (8D)

Our room location was the absolute best ever, We were on deck six aft port side right behind the boardwalk. We had the ocean view balcony. We like the layout with the bed by the balcony so that couch and floor space is by the bathroom, so there seems to be more floor space when you are getting dressed without the bed dividing the room in half. As others have said the usb charging and electric receptacles in the cabin was great. We both thought the cabin to be in perfect shape and my wife said this was the first time she did not feel the need to immediately clean everything. The room steward, Courtney, did a fantastic job. The balcony was great with the foot rests that pull out so you felt like you had a lounger on your deck. It was small, but that is what we paid for, not a jr suite, or grand suite or two bedroom suite, all of which we have had before. The room was the perfect size.

Port Reviews

Labadee

Labadee is a great beach stop. Drnk package included on the island. We rented a cabana on the suites beach, so we had a personal butler I guess you could say. Beach mats. A beautful spot to watch the water. I wish we had more time there. Waht was bad was the coaster was down because of some electrical issue and we really wanted to do that. It was a great beach day though. We were in Labadee in the 80's and of course it is much more developed now. It was really neat seeing all of the old area of labadee that I remeber when we were there over 30 years ago.

San Juan

Though we did not get off the ship as we have been here many times. San Juan is a great port. Anything you need to do or see can be done by walking from the ship. We really did want to do another self walking tour in an area that we had not walked before, but we decided to stay on the ship and do all the things while the boat was empty.
