I always wanted to visit Germany, and a Viking cruise was on my "bucket list". So happy we went, we went with an old friend from school and her husband and a couple that we have been friends with for over 30 years. It was so relaxing cruising down the river , stopping at sights and hopping off ship right into a town, very little busing to the sights. The tour guides were wonderful as were the personnel on the ship. We wish we had planned to spend a night in Amsterdam, because when we arrived after long plane flight, we were too tired to go sight seeing. We did spend two nights in Basel, it was wonderful, again wonderful guides and nice hotel with good breakfasts. We took a trip to Lucerne, beautiful!!!! We cruise a lot on big ocean going vessels and this really spoiled us, everything included, no fighting photographers getting off ship, no long lines, no cramped bathrooms. The room was very nice, spacious with plenty of closet space and a bathroom as big as in any hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, we had a good time in the lounge with the entertainment director and games. All in all, I hope to be able to make another river cruise on Viking, as I have nothing but happy thoughts of our trip!
