We wanted to experience the best in cruising which is why we chose Viking River Cruises. Our friends had recommended to us that cruising on a longboat was an unforgettable experience. Therefore, we selected the Danube River Cruise which was our first experience with Viking. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on the Viking Longboat MAGNI and would highly recommend Viking. The service provided was truly exceptional which began with the airport transfer to the hotel, the transfer to our longboat, and the transfer back to the airport. Once we boarded the boat, we were all were treated as if we were royalty.

The food on the cruise was truly exceptional with a variety of selections offered. I especially enjoyed tasting the local flavors as we docked in various ports throughout Europe. The wine was complimentary with each meal and the deserts were wonderful. We found all the food service personnel from the waitresses, waiters, cooks, and food director truly exceptional providing exceptional customer service. Everyone wanted to make sure your dining experience was memorable.

The Concierge, Program Director, Tour Director, and the Ship's Captain were also very cordial and customer service focused. My wife and I were prejudice; however, we felt our Program Tour Director was the best in the Viking fleet. He provided tons of information and historical references on our cruise as well as providing recommendations of places we should visit at each of our stops. During our stops we took advantage of the optional tour excursions. The local tour guides were exceptionally versed on their local history which increased the educational significance of the trip. For the Danube River Cruise, I would recommend travelers to begin in Passau Germany and end their cruise in Budapest Hungry as the night lights cruising into Budapest were unbelievable as we experienced on the sun deck.
