BACKGROUND INFO:
We have done many cruises on many different lines, Silversea, Seabourn, Azamara, Celebrity, RCCL, Holland America, Paul Gauguin. We have done majority of our cruises on Silversea and wanted to see what Regent was all about since fellow Silversea cruisers spoke highly of Regent. You never know if a cruise line is for you unless you try it for yourself. We live in Florida so we didnt need a hotel or airfare for this cruise, we just drove to the port of Miami and parked across the street from the ship which was very convenient.
EMBARKATION:
Cabin is nice size, comparable to most other luxury cruise lines for this category. It was clean. Bed was very comfortable. Room is lacking in storage. Walk in closet is nice and has drawers, similar to most luxury cruise ships but unlike other cruise lines, there’s no storage in the room itself. Coffee table is big and higher so it s perfect for in room dining. Cabin could use better insulation, we could hear our neighbors next door from time to time. Their entertainment system is great, lots and lots of good movies! Bathroom had both shower and tub. Cabinetry seemed old and basic...not luxurious whatsoever. Its a great location, just slightly forward of the mid ship elevators.
Key West is always lots of fun!
We were told the Westin on Seven Mile Beach does day passes, but when we arrived they said they stopped doing that, so we were disappointed. We just wandered around town and shopped.
Nothing in port, you have to get out and do excursion.
This private island is awesome! A must visit! Restaurants, bars, shopping, aviary, beautiful beach, zip lining, water sports.
Embarkation...no excursion.
