We just returned from a 10 day cruise in the SE Caribbean on the Crown Princess. This was our second cruise with Princess. We have also cruised with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. Over all, this was the best cruise to date. The ship, although 13 years old was in good shape. It is an elegant ship compared to others I have been on. Both the embarkation and debarkation process were easy. Food in the main dining room offered a good selection and was good quality. Service in the dining room was excellent. In fact, all the crew we encountered were very helpful and friendly. The entertainment was top notch. Even the production shows which on other lines are often cheesy were first rate. In fact, the last production show entitled Encore received a long and loud standing ovation. Loved the always available pizza, soft serve, and French fries and the 24 hour International café.
Our room was serviceable and not much different from other ships. The cabin steward was very friendly, helpful, and did an outstanding job keeping the room clean and stocked. The only things that kept me from giving a five stare review was the buffet; food for the most part was good but the serving area was very small and crowded and it was often hard to find a table. I much prefer the open serving area concept on Celebrity ships. We will definitely "catch a ride" on the Crown Princess again.
