This was our (couple in our early 60's) second time on Epic. We have also cruised Celebrity and enjoyed it. The staff at Epic were awesome. They worked so hard and tirelessly for the passengers. Our biggest problem with the cruise was with our fellow passengers, who seemed impossible to please and who would whine about absolutely anything and everything, no matter how trivial. It was very depressing to hear that whining, given that the crew have in many cases left their families for long periods to make a better life for them.

The entertainment on Epic is stellar—do see Cirque (definitely worth the extra money), Burn the Floor, Howl at the Moon, and the Beatles Band in the Cavern. The Cirque is the only one that has a fee—all the other shows are free. Yes—it is a good idea to do reservations online beforehand.

The food on Epic was awesome! I cannot believe the complaints I read regarding the food when I was researching our trip. The food was fabulous in most of the places we ate. Cagney's, Bistro, Moderno, and la Cuccina were all excellent. Typically we ate in Taste and our meals were varied and delicious, and service was friendly and prompt (most of the time). It probably helped that we like to eat a bit later, but keep in mind that lineups are worst from 5:30-8:00–after that it is usually easy to get a table anywhere. Breakfast and lunch at Taste on sea days were lovely.
