We left the cold north for the warm Caribbean. The cruise visited 8 ports, most of which we had visited before. Embarkation, the cruise and disembarkation all went smoothly and professionally. Princess did it’s usual good job.

Our ship, the Caribbean Princess, is a large older ship. We had heard it had been updated. That certainly was true in some aspects. The primary upgrade were the electronics needed to provide Medallion Service. We got our Medallions at check-in. They opened our cabin doors as we approached, let us pay for items and checked us in and off the ship. The medallions worked reasonably well for the basics, but some of the other features were either not functional yet or didn’t work well. It became obvious that the crew could keep close watch over us with the Medallions. You will need to decide if this is positive or negative.

Other updates on the ship included the buffet area, and the stage area of the Theater especially the lighting and technology.

We walked in downtown. Nothing special.
