Having enjoyed the Norwegian Escape, my wife and I decided to give the Jade a try. Unfortunately, this cruise did not live up to expectations. Although there were a few hits, the misses far outnumbered them.

Embarkation

We arrived at our assigned time and processed through the embarkation process quite quickly. Staff were well organized and efficient. From arrival at the pier, we were aboard the ship within 20 minutes. First impressions are very important and our first step onboard was a harbinger of things to come. There was no formal greeting party welcoming us onboard... unless you count the young lady spraying purex on everyone's hands. Two staff blocked access to the elevators forcing everyone through the atrium lobby. No welcome aboard drinks were offered. Guess that's why we had to go through the lobby. Read more
