This will be a detailed review from a first time cruiser. We decided to go on our cruise to celebrate our 15th Anniversary.

Our departure port was Galveston and we decided to drive down the night before and stay the night. We were not impressed with Galveston. The city did not have much to offer and seemed pretty run down. We stayed at a hotel that offered to let us park our car in their lot and shuttle us to and from the port.

EMBARKATION: We had a boarding time of 12-12:30. I highly recommend to plan on leaving a little early to get to the terminal on time. It was very busy and congested on the road to get there. Once inside the terminal everything moved smoothly and efficiently. We got on the boat at about 12:30 but our rooms wouldn't be available until 1:30 so we decided to walk around a bit to familiarize ourselves. Vista is a large ship and I will talk about this a little more later. We booked a spa cabin so we decided to take a tour of the spa to pass some time and see what deals they had for embarkation day. We love to feel pampered on our vacation but be prepared- even with "savings bundles", these services were very expensive. We ended up booking 6 treatments between the two of us. I would not do this again because I did not feel like the treatments were worth the high prices.

Cabin Review

Cloud 9 Spa Ocean View (walkway view)

Cabin 6T

Nice and spacious. Good view of the ocean in front of the boat but only partial view. Close to the warning horn which started sounding at 4:30 in the morning on debarkation due to heavy dense fog. It sounded every 2 minutes, so forget about sleeping a little later.

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We booked an excursion to snorkel but cancelled due to high winds causing rough seas. We ended up taking a taxi to seven mile beach to a beach club. it was 5 per person each way and to get in the beach club it was 2 per person. But once you got in it got way more expensive. Beach was beautiful and the water was pristine. But it was crowded.

Cozumel

Shopped right outside of the cruise terminal and the prices weren't that great of a deal and the people were soooooo pushy.
