Chose this new, exotic destination for my husband and I and I believe it was our best cruise ever (we have cruised 6 times with Princess, a few times with Celebrity and once with Viking). Our upgrade to Princess Clubclass with its private dining, daily cocktail events and spacious mini-suite were the highlight of our trip - largely due to the outstanding service and wonderful relationships we were able to develop with the staff...hats off to Sapphire Princess for the excellent training of their club class staff. We also enjoyed another outstanding Chef’s Table - both the Chef and Pastry Chef are excellent on Sapphire Princess. We enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody on the giant “Movies Under the Stars” screen. We had many shore excursion options and did one at each port...all were well co-ordinated with very good guides and drivers. Embarkation and disembarkation were relatively easy and very well organized. Princess did an outstanding job of dealing with the various customs for all countries, making our visits hassle-free, including in Vietnam where Princess procured our visas for us. Sapphire Princess is a beautiful ship with many dining rooms, eateries, stores, pools, bars, lounges and daily activities and this cruise was a beautiful, tropical cruise where even the weather co-operated. We wish we could do it again...tomorrow! The only painful part of our journey was the very long travel time from Calgary to Singapore. We flew United and upgraded to their Premium Economy seats on the Dreamliner, thinking it would be like Air Canada’s Premium Economy on their Dreamliner. Suffice it to say I will never fly United again - we were squished into our seats (we are only average size) and service was remarkably poor (non-existent) on the flight from San Fran to Singapore.
Spacious, clean, great balcony
Walked around, got a massage, ate - it was fun and interesting...easy.
