The Getaway

Cruised to the Western Caribbean on the Norwegian Getaway. The Mayan ruins were amazing and accessible with comfortable air conditioned buses. Mexican WiFi is spotty and many tourist destinations only take cash because they cannot process the credit cards. The ship itself was nice but the entertainment was so so with the exception of Cirque de Steam which was an acrobatic show that was fascinating and highly entertaining. The comedians were not that great and got a little too political at times. Food was good. No complaints there and the ship was immaculate. Elevators were always crowded and in demand. The WiFi was poor and very expensive. I felt pressured to buy merchandise and raffles tended to be sales pitches with cheap prizes. The spa was expensive- over 200$ per person for the week with massages extra- about 140$ per massage. My final bill onboard was a real eye opener but you can also check your account daily on the tv. Overall I prefer Royal Caribbean but will probably try Celebrity next.

Cabin Review

The Haven Courtyard Penthouse with Balcony

Cabin H5

The Haven cabin was nice and our butler was amazing. Reservations are never a problem with the concierge. Priority seating for shows was great. Easy embarkation and disembarkation. Very expensive. Not sure it was worth it. Haven restaurant menu same for whole week. Small private pool and hot tub. Quieter than rest of ship.
