Had wanted to see the Hawaiian islands and liked the itinerary this cruise offered. The Hawaiian Islands were beautiful and well worth seeing but the experience we had on the cruise ship was terrible. Food was of poor quality for majority of our dining experiences and was overcooked and flavourless . the only 2 exceptions were Cagneys steakhouse and the Brazilian restaurant where the food was good. We had purchased the dining package but you had to make sure you made reservations early in your trip or either couldn't get in or had extremely late times available. Even with the restaurants that were free you needed to have reservations or would have up to an hour wait to get a seat. This was never communicated you by the ship. The actual service in the restaurants was excellent though. Prices on the ship for drinks and water were excessive and had to watch your charges as 2 times we were charged double for our drinks. Thank goodness we had found out before we left that you could bring you own wine on board for a corkage fee of $15 per bottles this made the ship experience more tolerable. If you are bringing on your own wine each port handles it differently so be aware. Again something that was never communicated to us.

The service at guest services was TERRIBLE the worst I have ever experienced in my 50 plus years of travelling. Shore excursions were extremely expensive and service at the shore excursion desk was also terrible and non informative. There was poor information provided about your stops in port so if you want to have an idea of the islands do your research prior as don't expect Norwegian to be helpful. The shore excursions we did do were extremely poorly organized and again could have waits of over an hour to get off the boat. the actual excursion once you were off were very good but you could certainly book similar excursions on your own that were excellent quality. For example booked a tour on Kauai from ALEX's tour which was excellent. He met the ship in Kona and booked people for Kauai. The one excursion that you would likely have to book through the cruise ship is the Luau on Kauai and this is very worth seeing, one of the best Luau's I have ever been to. Just be prepared for long wait times and disorganization by Norwegian to get you there. You can't book this on your own as the night is set up for cruise passengers only.

The pool and hot tub area are small for the amount of people and poorly maintained. The cabin is extremely small and outdated , we even had duct tape on our door around the latch to the balcony. Plumbing was slow and talking with fellow passenger they had the plumbing in their cabin quit and it took crew about 8 hours to fix it. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner as they provide a mix of shampoo/conditioner in the cabin which was separated so didn't get any conditioner.
