We had a great cruise. The cabin staff were amazing and attention to detail was spot on. Loved the entertainment and the dance classes were so much fun. Food was amazing and the staff in the Pantry and Waterfront really looked after us. We dined at the Pantry for breakfast and lunch and most dinners we ate at the Waterfront. We really enjoyed the destination and shore excursions. We enjoyed the theme nights and the game shows that were held on the ship. The entertainment crew had us laughing the whole time. We did the Mix cocktail course on the sea days between New Zealand and Hobart. That was good value. We visited the spa a couple of times and loved the pampering we got. The gym was a bit on the small side but by the end of the cruise, there was plenty of room as people didn't attend in the same numbers. Overall, we had a great time and would travel on the Jewel again if it wasn't leaving the fleet.
Cabin was looking a bit tired in places but that is to be expected of a 30 year old ship. It was clean and comfortable which is all that is required when you spend most of your time around the ship and on shore.
The city was easy to navigate and many attractions on the shore excursions were close to town or within the town.
Loved Akaroa. We did the Giants house independently and that was amazing and the bus ride showed us amazing views
We did Wellington independently. We did the Cable car and wandered around the city.
