We chose this cruise for its amazing 9 port itinerary in the southern Caribbean. We loved San Juan as a embarkation port. It took us south a lot faster! It was an easy port to manage. We enjoyed the ship even though it was older but PLEASE read the cabin review!

O'Shehan's Irish pub was near our room and we enjoyed the atmosphere and food there better than the lido deck. We ate most of our breakfasts there. Our favorite crew member was a server there, Ari. We had a small cooler with us that we took to the beach daily and the staff was willing to fill our water bottles with ice water and also fill a small baggie with ice for us.

We had 8 nights of specialty dining. Totally recommend that you upgrade with food not alcohol! Our food was amazing! We ate in the main dining room one night and could not even hear ourselves think. TOO LOUD and took way too long to get through a meal that was mediocre. Bamboo was a great option that is also complimentary.

Cabin OK

OUR ENTIRE CRUISE WAS WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING in our stateroom! Yes, that is right. We went the entire trip without a/c, and we had 3 adults in the room. We requested them to fix it but at 11 pm the 1st night we were told that they knew there that our a/c was broken before we even boarded the ship!!!! WHAT?!?! We went the first 2 nights with only a 8 inch fan! They brought in a larger fan once we were in Aruba. To this date we have not be compensated for any inconveniences this brought except a free night of specialty dining and 2 bottles of cheap wine. Everyone we told this to on the ship were applaud. We were not offered another cabin because they were at capacity. We were told that the ship's staff was unable to help us onboard and we should call NCL once we were home. They did open a case number for us, however. When we contacted NCL we were told we had to start a case with NCL and what they started onboard was for them only. OH BOTHER!

BTW: Our daughter had to spend 30 min plus each evening in the public bathroom in the Irish pub each night just to cool down before going to sleep.

Other than the ac the room was great except for the 1 outlet by the vanity. There are none next to the beds and they were taking extension cords away form people! A C-pap machine needs outlets next to the beds and with more and more people using them this cruise line needs to be more accommodating.
