This is our third time on this ship. We live in the surrounding Houston area, so it is a fast, inexpensive port to get to. This 7 day cruise went to Roatan, Honduras;Belize City, Belize and Cozumel, Mexico. We first dopped off luggage at porter station by ship, then parked at parking lot B. The parking lot will shuttle you to the ship terminal. Traffic was terrible with everyone trying to get on or get off the port area. Allow at least one hour to manuver around all the people and traffic. Embarkation/checking in was very smooth and fast, maybe 20 minutes. This was around noon. We ate at the Windjammer buffet and wait for room to be ready. Room was ready around 1:30. The bars opened at 10:00 AM, but can only serve local beverages due to Texas Laws, while at port.

Ship needs to be updated or renovated, it is starting to show at lot of wear and tear. The Main Dining Room and Promenade Decks were very nicely appointed and luxurious. The cabin needs major renovations and updating. Room 8366 was very spacious. This ship does a great job with drawers, shelves, mirrors and closet space. The shower was very narrow as typical of most ships. Bring your own body lotion and liquid body soap, since these are not provided. Entertainment was great. Loved Phil Anderson, the Piano Guy, at the Schooner Bar and the latin guitarist, Manoelito at Boleros. We went to the main show each night at the Platnium Theatre. I thought they did a great job. Each night was different and very entertaining. We didn't care for the food at the Windjammer. It was just too bland and commercial. The main dining room's food wasn't much better. The service was top notch, but the food really needs to be upscaled, taste modified, or more diverse with healthy alternatives. Cozumel was a great port, the other two stops aren't really that great. Debarkation was terrible. We were suppose to start at ten, but they were running one hour late. The crowds were getting mad from waiting. Very long wait at customs. Very disorganized. Take shuttle and luggage back to car. What a long morning. (3 hours!) My spouse and I had a great time despite the food.

Port Reviews

Galveston

The ship terminal is in walking distance to the historical district center, The Strand, with many shops, museums and restaurants.

Belize City

I really enjoyed the boat tender to Belize. It took about 30 minutes, but the water is so blue, that the ride is enjoyable. The tender docks at Tourism Village. Lots of shops.

Cozumel

The is a very large and nice port. Lots of shops. You can hire a cab or buy a tour from this port if needed. We took cab to the main area to get an authentic Mexican Seafood lunch.
