We are Elite Plus with Celebrity and booked this cruise long before sail date. We got a really good price for concierge class that included classic beverage and gratuities. As the sail date drew nearer, I checked current prices and found the same class room was over $7000! IF I were going to pay $1000 a day for two people, it had better be all-inclusive (gratuities, ALL beverages, internet). The ship is beautiful; however, Magic Carpet needs a defined purpose besides being an occasional tender walkway. The bar service was slow almost everywhere; the martini bar is the most centrally located and was the busiest with service virtually non-existent. The martini glasses are all small and the prices are large. For an upsized cocktail (which one couldn't get as the glasses didn't arrive), the charge will be ~$17+. Nothing much on the Classic drink package is included at the martini par--except call booze and mixer. The four "main" dining room concept isn't much better than the travesty we experienced on the maiden crossing on Quantum of the Seas; same parent company so you'd have thought Celebrity would've learned that lesson.The food is the same as on all Celebrity ships which we have found to vary depending on the current executive chef in charge. The entertainment was acceptable; Eden is an "interactive" show which people either liked or they didn't. While we enjoyed it, after 65 minutes and no end in sight, we left. We suggested it be cut to 45-50 minutes. The food in the Eden restaurant was excellent; however, the prices in ALL of the specialty restaurants are ridiculously high. The one night dinner at Magic Carpet cost $75/person and included one glass of champagne. (We didn't go and neither did many other people.) For $150 per couple, a complete wine pairing should have been included. The high end shops on board (Tiffany's et al) weren't ever busy. Other cruisers we talked to were on board because they wanted to try the new class of ship; we didn't meet any who said they'd come back. Who will--especially at the prices they're charging? I almost forgot--Celebrity no longer provides facial tissues in the public bathrooms and the receptacle hardware is inside the stalls for used tampons but no receptacles. Oops!
