This was our second time on The Escape and we were not disappointed. Embarkation was a bit chaotic as the ship had a problem with gastroenteritis on the previous cruise to ours. We had to wait a while to get into our cabins and we were late leaving New York. Yes there was extensive sanitizing throughout the cruise and we were not able to serve ourselves in the Garden Café but this did not interfere with our enjoyment of the cruise. We thought the staff were very professional and still very friendly especially as they had an extra work load added to their already busy jobs due to the sanitizing process.
The food on this cruise was exceptional. I love a curry and they had one on every day in the garden Cafe. The Speciality restaurants were great, we ate in Cagney's, Moderno, La Cucina, Le Bistro and Bayamo. The service in all was second to none.
Our cabin was kept clean and tidy by our hard working steward Jerrry. Anything we needed he provided with a smile. We were amazed at how quickly he would have our cabin serviced, mostly by the time we came back from breakfast.
Saw the Dutch and the French sides of the island
We took a safari taxi around the island and we were taken to many spots for photo opportunities and then to a beach where we stayed for 45 minutes, time enough for a drink and to soak in the atmosphere.
