Had heard great things about this ship so thought I would give it a try. Unfortunately it has no atmosphere. It's like a shopping mall in both looks and feel and there's always someone wanting to sell you something.
I didn't expect it to be a party style ship. Enjoy a drink sure...but to excess, why.
For such a huge ship there are no peaceful corners. Not even the Adults Only Solarium which is a complete misnomer . It's just as noisy and rowdy as the general areas. Lots of drinking, yelling across the pools, loud music. Sorry missed the mark here.
Lovely cabin. A bit narrow. No coffee table. Ordered room service and had to sit on the bed to eat it.
Very comfortable bed and pillows.
Storage is great although a small cupboard in the bathroom would be handy.
Veranda is nice. Table very small, but I suppose suitable for the space.
View is far more obstructed than expected. I've almost always booked obstructed view on other ships with no problem. The life boat comes nearly to the top of the balcony rail and since I'm only 5 foot tall it was difficult to see over it.
I took the shuttle bus to Tauranga and walked around.
Went to The Elms. Absolutely awesome place to visit. If you're into history don't miss it.
Took ferry across to Russell. Lovely historical town. Went on The Russell Mini Tour. Well worth it. Our driver was so knowledgeable about the area.
