There are valid reasons why the Celebrity Equinox is number 1 among Cruise Critic reviewers. These reasons include:
Check In and Boarding: Check in was fast, easy and we were escorted to the small Concierge waiting area. Boarded the ship prior to the stated 11:00 a.m. time and were greeted with a mimosa. Confirming our dining package reservations was also quick and easy.
Concierge Embarkation lunch in the Silhouette Dining room was excellent and such a nice perk!
Cabin Review
Concierge Class 2
As noted above, the cabin was clean. There were several tears in the sofa and scratches on the furniture, but everything was great. We did have a toilet problem one day and they repaired it within 30 minutes of our call. The balcony on the hump was huge--a full lounger plus the two chairs, footstools and table Our steward, Hector, was fantastic!
Port Reviews
Costa Maya
The port itself is the excursion. It's too small for the number of passengers in port that day. I loved Aviarius, except for the swinging bridges between each aviary.
Cozumel
We decided to try Nachi Cocum this trip. We are Mr. Sancho's lovers, but booked Nachi Cocum due to its limit of 130 people per day and 6 ships were in port that day. Nachi Cocum is quiet. The massages have 3 tables inside and 2 tables outside---none of these is private, thus getting a massage involves being exposed to people. The food was excellent, but service very slow.
