Wife and I enjoyed a weekend get-a-way on the Ruby Princess this past Valentines Day Weekend. Traveled to Santa Barbara and Ensenada. Although we do love cruising, we will rate this one an average cruise. Not a lot of entertainment, Cruise Director was hardly noticed and the usual outstanding customer service on Princess Cruises was definitely lacking on this trip. Staff had a hard time with their listening skills. On numerous occasions, we had to repeat our questions, as they failed to let us ask a complete question prior to them trying to answer it. Also, a few rude individuals, one on the pizza section, the grill section and the casino change cage. All of these individuals definitely failed with their customer service skills. Positive notes: Food and service was excellent in the club class section as well as the Crooners Bar. Another item of concern is the shape of he newly renovated bathtubs in the mini suites. They have narrowed them so as to become a definite safety issue. Standing upward there is not enough room to keep your feet separated properly, you have to keep them together as you stand. Tough to keep your balance. Sooner or later someone will fall and hurt themselves.
Normal mini suite with decent amount of storage space. Balcony was good and relaxing. An item of concern is the shape of he newly renovated bathtubs in the mini suites. Went on the trolley for a narrated tour of Santa Barbara with a brief stop at the mission. It was ok, nothing special. Average tour..
