Let me start by saying this is our 17th cruise and 11th on Royal Caribbean, so we know what kind of service to expect from RC. There were many positives about this cruise. The lines were short and check-in and boarding was very quick and smooth. We actually arrived about an hour before our scheduled time but no one mentioned it and all staff we encountered at the port were super nice and friendly. Lunch in the Windjammer was great as usual. The cabins were (supposed to be ) ready at 1:30. This is where we were so disappointed. Our cabin was nasty! We were shocked that this was allowed on a RC ship. The drawers were full of hair and dust, There was a big sticky place on the counter top where an old cruise compass had been and bits were stuck to it. It was about a 3" circle so no way the cabin steward could have missed it. There was something black on the bathroom wall and a wet soapy mess on the bathroom counter. We had some packs of Lysol wipes so we had to start cleaning before we could unpack. We had to find our steward to ask for towels several times. The cruise compass that was left on our bed had the incorrect times for shows for the first night. Due to this we missed the first show. After realizing it, we went to the guest services officer, Yabin and he was very nice and apologetic but there wasn't really anything he could do. He did offer to send us wine or chocolate covered strawberries and we realized it wasn't his fault, we were just disappointed on missing the show. I have never heard of this happening and I actually took pics of the correct compass beside the incorrect one to prove that I had not mixed up the dates or times.

Actually the issues with our cabin steward was the only issues that we had. A few days later we came back to our room and found that he had thrown away our stack of cruise compasses that we had been saving on the bedroom counter. When we asked him about it he said "you should have told me you wanted to save them. We are told we have to recycle them." Really, he took them off our counter and got rid of them???? Wouldn't you think they would recycle them after that guest's cruise is over? I did want to save them, but ok. We have never had to ask a cabin steward not to throw away things before. Our cabin steward's name was Angus. If you happen to have him, please know that his work isn't typical of RC, usually they are great! I want to compliment our waiter and assistant in the dining room. We had second seating and our waiter Uri and assistant Mei were awesome. The food was great in the dinning room and in the windjammer, no complaints there. During our 4 days onboard, we met and chatted with several crew members and everyone was very nice, friendly and willing to stop and talk. The Enchantment is in need of a refurbishment soon as she is showing her age. Most common areas are still in pretty good shape but the cabins are pretty worn and rust is showing on doors and hinges. We didn't leave the ship at either the private island or Nassau. It was too cold for us to swim so we decided to stay on and relax and we have been to Nassau several times. We did spend a great deal of time in the casino and all the casino staff were super!
