Sail Date: Feb 2019

This is my second time on the Viking Sea. There is so much to like- the small size, the Scandinavian design, the food, the inclusiveness of the rate, and even the heated bathroom floor. The ship is exceptionally well maintained.

On this past cruise we are treated to great vocal entertainment, an excellent cruise director (female!), and a great itinerary including two stops in Columbia. The lecturers were also outstanding.

I can easily give 4 stars, but not 5. The reason is the service in the "restaurant" (their term for the main dining room). Something is wrong. No longer are you served by a single waiter and a single assistant waiter; there is some sort of team approach. Also, there was a simple lack of wait staff which required waiters to serve too many clients and required even supervisors to become waiters. The whole place was frequently in disarray; Service was slow, extras like asking about coffee after the meal were usually forgotten.

Cabin Review

Cabins are on the small side, but perfectly functional. Lots on entertainment on the TV to choose from.
