choose this cruise because it fit our timeline and location. to begin with embarkation was 2.5 hr in to get to desk to get on the ship. the line was close to a mile along. parking for the cruise was $20 a day to park our car .once on the ship cabin was fine and went to supper on the 1st night ... seated in the aisle to go to the kitchen in the taste dining area and supper for that evening took 2 hrs and 40 min . so go to the spa to enjoy the sauna and steam room and find out that to use them will cost me 269 dollars for the 10 day cruise all other cruise i have been on included this on the price of the cruise. 2nd night of dining in the Manhattan room and again was seated in back near kitchen with all the noise and traffic along with being close to kitchen. 3rd night again went back to Manhattan room and was wearing dress shorts and was told that they were not allowed ... open dining i thought . 4th night went to Manhattan room and again was place on an aisle close to kitchen, again much noise and traffic.. called the host over and explained that my service and location had been very bad up until this point .apologized and noted it at the front desk .now to the spa that cost 269.00. it was very quite until some off the guest got real loud in the hot tub. that can happen. next the larger jet tub failed and had to have maintenance fix that 2 hrs approx. then on another day the sauna was not working had to advise spa people about that .....finally fixed sometime later .from my stand point the open dining concept creates and environment that cause the waiter and asst. waiter to not be as attentive as on ships with closed dining .oh 1 other thing about the dining we requested lemonade as our drink every night and that request seemed to make our waiter and assist waiter frustrated and took a long time to get the drink. i thought about going to buffet to get my own would have been much faster and our waiter wouldn't have had to get it . over all our time on the breakaway was subpar and will probably never cruise with them again ...by the way we ported out of New Orleans on a 10 day cruise .
