Chosen for destination and end docking in Melbourne. Loved the itinerary and shore excursions except Napier was very busy with their once a year Art Deco festival and it meant there were traffic restrictions, no reduction in price of excursion. But boring just seeing the countryside.q when we got back to town couldnt find anywhere to sit or toilets open, civic centre closed, pub for patrons only (understandable, but no help if you have been in a bus for three hours and on fluid tablets). Dunedin was the same situation with toilet stops on the bus trip, needs more thought with mature age passengers.

Food in dining room needs more variety, but served hot which was good. They need to be stricter with dress code or don’t bother. Theme nights were only in Windjammer. Breakfast and lunch in Windjammer were fine, salmon with poached egg for breakfast suites me, also the salads are great for lunch. Not available in dining room for dinner. Didn’t try any specialty restaurants. As usual drinks weren’t cheap, we bought a drinks package as you can get better coffee and bottled water, wine by the glass in the dining room was included, only get discount on bottles so better to drink by the glass. Felt sorry for couples where only one drank as you had to buy for both.

Boarding, disembarking and tenders were well organised. They have a ramp they can use for wheelchairs to board tenders, would be better for all passengers more stable than the steps on platform.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony

Cabin 5D

Smaller than Carnival or Princess. More hangers supplied. No shower gel in shower, which is extremely small. Looks a bit tired and was very creaky on rough seas. Disappointed that sheets weren’t changed on a ten day cruise, should have said something as my husband cut his leg on first day and there was blood on sheets. Kept thinking they will be changed today. Cabin looked clean until you moved things, especially chair at vanity with rubbish bin underneath, missed the bin sometimes unable to kneel or bend to pick it up,it was there for a few days. Had to ask for robe, shower cap and breakfast menu, the menu is in the vanity drawer.

Shopping, unfortunately needed shoes as ones we took gave us blisters. Wandered through town, pleasant enough. Lovely couple told about a larger shopping centre
