This is an older ship but well maintained. Mobile cruise port is easy access with convenient parking should you drive.. Positives: Crew and staff; selection and availability of food and drink; cabin steward and cabin upkeep; wait staff in Celebration Dining Room; while the entertainment was adequate it was not what one might call top tier but for the price it was OK. Negatives: (1) Carnival requires you to select an arrival time and tells you that you cannot board until your time slot. This was NOT the case on our sailing. Our arrival time was 12:30 to 1:00. We arrived a few minutes early but when we got there the line was long and slow. We asked about our reserved time and were informed that it was first come first on. Only if you PAY for priority boarding do you bypass the line. There were people in line with later arrival times. (2) Carnival allows smoking inside the ship on Deck 9. Unfortunately you have to pass through this area for many of the activities and shopping. There is no ventilation and it smells like you are in a forest fire when you pass through. This was a major disappointment for us. (3) Through no fault of Carnival, the port of Mobile was closed due to fog when we returned. However, Carnivals handling of debarkation was miserable. Although they announced an orderly process for leaving the ship many times, it was summarily ignored by passengers and not enforced by the Carnival crew and staff. So be aware that there may be a mad rush with tempers flaring and crowds pushing and shoving. Carnival could have done a better job of enforcing their own procedure.

Overall the cruise was adequate for the money spent.
