I picked this cruise as an alternative to Port Canaveral--which we've sailed from before, and it was within a 2 hour drive from family so we were able to incorporate a family visit with our cruise.
Embarkation was smooth. While we had suite accommodations, the line for those with standard cabins wasn't long. We were on board quickly and headed to Lido for lunch.
The Ocean Suite was a very nice upgrade from our usual balcony on 7 day cruises. The larger bathroom with whirlpool tub and two sinks was a very nice feature, so was the extra closet space. (Put my husbands clothes in the one nest to the bed and mine in the "dressing room" outside the bathroom.) The only problem we found was that the refrigerator was not cooling; and, it was needed not for our comfort, but for my husbands insulin. We notified the room steward who had stopped by to introduce himself and in short order maintenance was there to change out the appliance.
This cabin was spacious with plenty of room to spare. I especially liked the abundant closet space and the two sinks in the bathroom. There were even different lighting options which could be utilized by holding the switch longer. I did take a NON-SURGE plug so we could charge our phones. The first day, we discovered the refrigerator was not cooling and maintenance brought another--the new one would not fit in the space so it was placed under the desk area so we were left with having to move the chair around to but that was not a big issue we me.
I loved the large balcony area. It has two chairs, a small table, and a lounge chair. I got plenty of use out of the balcony.
Loved the port and the shopping beyond it. Found the traffic cop to be especially entertaining directing traffic and pedestrians. :-)
Not a lot to do at the post area. Shopping area was fairly small. Not going to spend $14 per person to ride the lift to the beach.
