This was a small ship with great staff and activities. Steve, the cruise director, was easy to understand and added energy to the events. There were two comedians and a juggler in addition to the singers and dancers who put on productions. There were several game shows, a guest talent show and the zombie Thriller dancers. We are dinner at the main dining room each night. There was always a good selection to choose from. Lobster was served on the second formal night. The room steward was accommodating and got us anything we asked for. There was a main pool that usually had some type of music playing and many contests were held here on sea days. For some peace and quiet, we usually visited the adults only Solarium. The roof is retractable in this area so it can be enjoyable rain or shine. Check in was a breeze. Many guests began to line up for self debarkation prior to any announcement stating the ship was cleared. They let the people in line off of the ship prior to making an overhead announcement that the ship was cleared. We had an enjoyable vacation and Royal Carribean made sure to see to that (however check the charges on your account, we had to get some corrected).
Cabin Review
Interior
The cabin offered several storage areas in the vanity, nightstands and tv cabinet. The tv was on an arm that allowed it to be adjustable. When it was flush to the cabinet it was partially in the way to exit the room. The cabin had a chair at the vanity and another one near the foot of the bed. The shower stall was tiny, but we made do.
Port Reviews
New Orleans
We stayed at Drury Inn prior to embarkation. We walked to Cafe DuMonde and Jackson Square. There are many places of interest to visit in this city.
Key West
We took the free Duval Loop bus to the Southernmost point. We also visited Higgs Beach which has public restrooms and a nice outdoor resturaunt. Beach chairs and umbrellas may be rented on the beach too. We also walked through West Martello Tower. Its an old civil war fort with gardens. They operate on donations. We took the Duval Loop bus back to the pier area and took in the Shipwrecking Museum. It was okay and had an observation tower that offered a good view of the area.
Nassau
We always visit Junkanoo Beach. Its a free public beach within walking distance of the cruise dock. There are restrooms on the beach with outdoor showers. This is not a fancy beach, but has the beautiful, clear water. There are several spots for drinks or lunch here. You can easily rent chairs and umbrellas. The first day we visited Seagulls for drinks and rented one chair for a place to keep our things off of the sand. The second day we visited Crabs N Tings for drinks and lunch. Sue let us use a table and chairs for the whole time we were there. Again, not a fancy place, but fun none the less.
