We chose this cruise to be with friends who were going. The service was pretty good. The room steward as well as wait staff was friendly, considerate and outgoing, with only a very few poor exceptions. Nothing really wowed us though. The stateroom was nice, the bed comfortable, the closet huge, but the bathroom was small and the shower was so miniscule, if you dropped your razor you had to step of the shower to be able to bend over to pick it up. The on-board events were scheduled to promote herding from one event to the next which was uncomfortable at best. The pool decks were mostly quiet and peaceful during afternoons and evenings at sea except 1-hour of DJ one day and one hour of band music the next. They could have definitely used some fun beach music or games poolside. Oh, and the DJ played nothing but canned, pre-mixed mega-mixes the entire trip. Never spoke a word, just clicked the play button and sat back with his arms crossed. Pretty boring and the shortened/blended songs were mostly just annoying. The Ocean Medallion held lots of promise, but the reality is a let-down. Be prepared to let the Princess pick your pocket for internet service to unlock the Medallion or it is just a heavy hunk of jewelry masquerading as a fancy room key. We went on a cruise to get away so Internet access was something we did not want. Most important... If you get the Ocean Medallion ahead of time... MAKE SURE YOU HAVE IT ON YOU WHEN YOU ARRIVE!!!. No one tells you the only way to get on the ship is with the Medallion in hand. The printed boarding pass only gets you to the gate. The Medallion is required to get on the ship. If you packed it in your suitcase and left the suitcase on the dock as required, you're kinda screwed. Other than that, the food was pretty good, the service was pretty good, the entertainment was pretty good but the whole experience aboard ship was ho-hum. It wasn't awful.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BA

Cabin was wonderful and comfortable. Balcony was nice but with only a barrier between balconies, it lacked privacy. The closet area was huge, but the bathroom was tiny and the shower miniscule. Fortunately, I only weigh in at 180#. I don't think a 250# person would be able to fit inside. We would have happily given up half the huge closet to get a shower stall we could turn around in and a bathroom we could share.

Port Reviews

Princess Cays

Private Princess owned beach with no real access to the Bahamas, basically an extension of the ship. Nice, pretty, but nothing special. Oh, even though this beach is owned by Princess, the purchased drink package does not apply here. Be prepared to pay full price for your drinks regardless of your drink package.
