My wife and decided to have a last minute get away and thought that the Bahamas cruise on the Elation would be a great choice. Overall we did enjoy our holiday but there were some areas that could be greatly improved on the Elation.

The first, and biggest was the food. This started badly and did not improve. My wife ordered a fajita from the pool side taco bar and the beef used was very poor, and it can't have been on the ship too long, we hadn't even left the port at this point. The only positive from a food perspective was Guy's Burger Bar. The biggest disappointment was the main restaurant. The service, on 3 of the 4 nights was incredibly slow, so slow in fact that we missed the start of the late show. In fact, when we first arrived at the restaurant on the first night, my wife and were sat at different tables, which was frustrating and took about 15 minutes to resolve. The servers also did not know the menu and could not answer simple questions about the meals. The menu was uninspired, with one token vegetarian special, which was the same each evening. Finally, the quality was bang average, and far below other cruises we have taken.

Once we did make it out of the dinner and to the entertainment, the quality was average. The Epic Rock show was better than the Divas show, which did not seem to fit the casts skills, but was still entertaining. The interactive shows were again a mixed bag. The Gender Game was awkward and not entertaining but the Couple Game was much better. Outside of the main theatre, we thoroughly enjoyed Sam's performances in the Piano Bar, as well as the man trivia competitions.

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin 4D

Cabin was nice enough. Good size, lots of storage for clothes, bathroom was adequate.

Port Reviews

Jacksonville

Nice terminal staff and smooth boarding process

Freeport

Not very much in the immediate vicinity of the port, would definitely suggest booking an excursion if you stop in Freeport

Nassau

Nice snorkeling excursion, although the fish were not extremely exotic.
