This was my first Royal Caribbean cruise and I was so excited about it. We departed on a Friday at 4 PM and came back on Monday at 8 AM from Port Canaveral. The boarding process was simple and easy. Other than that, what a disappointment. We were in an adjoining ocean view room on the 4th floor next to the elevators. The design of the ship is terrible as there was a walking track right above our heads. We could here people above us starting at 6 AM each morning. The design for the bathroom is bad too as the shower faces out into the entire bathroom and it's very easy to accidentally wet everything outside the shower. The shower curtain was also gross as it had pink mildew on the bottom of it. You also have to call room service to have ice delivered as well as a corkscrew delivered and this typically took between 30 - 45 minutes. This ship is old and in desperate need of maintenance and painting as it looks worn and dated. There were several light bulbs out in the solarium pool area along with tiles missing in the overall design of the space. The food was terrible. We had 8:30 PM dining each night and the food was ALWAYS cold and the salad was soggy. I know how difficult it is to prepare food for a high volume of people, but I've been on other cruises and never received cold food. The crew was not friendly. I don't believe I received a smile from a single crew member the entire cruise. The entertainment was so dated. It was catered to 55+ age group. I heard that this ship is going to be docked for repairs in May and even with this knowledge my disappointment remains the same. No matter what ship I go on, I expect for it to be well maintained and for the staff to be friendly especially when an 18% gratuity is tacked on for everything. Royal Caribbean lost me as a customer forever because of my experience. The two positives from my perspective was that the bed was very comfortable and our cabin steward did a nice job cleaning our room each day.
