My husband and I needed to get away for a few days to totally unwind and we did just that. Now just so you know this was our 32 cruise and this was our 6th Carnival cruise and majority have been with RRCL. What does anyone really expect to get for three days? We expect a clean room #1, ice bucket kept full, room steward to provide us with clean towels and good food. Our room was clean but never to my standard so I Clorox everything that's a solid surface and fabreeze all materials - now I know it's halfway clean. Room steward asked when we preferred to have him to service our room and we opted for mornings - choice was morning or afternoon. A little strange for us as we are accustomed to twice per day. First day it's now 2pm and room is still the same as we left it. We saw steward and he asked if he could clean our room and we asked for just clean towels seeing it was so late and we had stayed away thinking he would clean the room "in the morning". We rarely saw him for the rest of our cruise. We would get our own ice and kept the room pretty clean and he would bring clean towels sometime during the evening when we were out.

Food - 1st night we ate at the Diamonds steakhouse and my surf and turf was excellent, but my husbands prone rib not so much. Should have been better seeing that we paid for this meal. Other meals were in the cafeteria and it was horrible - not many choices here and the same food day in and day out and they would serve you the food I guess cost more like bacon.....weird. Tables weren't cleared off and half the time we never saw workers at all. I felt that we were to totally take care of all our needs everywhere on this ship. Staff never made it a point to say hello and ask if we needed anything as if to avoid having to do anymore than needed. Food wasn't good but we didn't starve either. Shows were ok,but the one thing that was above and beyond our expectations was the cruise director Nono she was fantastic in engaging with everyone especially after the shows in the Atrium I think it was called Flowers we had a fantastic evening on the last night - thanks Nono!! We had a balcony and it was filthy of course a good wash down was needed and you couldn't even see out of the windows when you sat in the chairs. My husband cleaned them with soap and water which was much better. Neighbors above us, left and right were loud and fowl mouthed - could have done without! You pay extra for a balcony so clean it up people....bottom line I really felt like we weren't on a cruise that service was a priority from the staffing. What a shame! Again three days what should you expect? Service wasn't anything to write home about, cleanliness overall the public areas were clean but lacked in our stateroom/balcony. Food - nothing special at all. Would I do this one again.... NOPE! I would not. I'll pay extra to be on RRCL.
