We chose this cruise because we wanted to tour South East Asia with the comfort of travelling on a cruise. We knew it would only be a snapshot of the places but we like our creature comforts.
Embarkation in Hong Kong was the worst we have ever endured. We had supposedly been given “priority“ embarkation but this did not materialize and we were forced to queue for some 45 minutes in baking hot corridors in the line to be photographed for security passes. When we were disembarked in Singapore the corridors had fans to keep the temperature down and it was quick and efficient.
We had been on Celebrity Eclipse before and rated it highly. We chose to upgrade to aqua class as we did not enjoy the proximity of tables in the dining room. In Blu we were on the same table each night and were pleasantly spaced from other diners, which was not the case for couples who were cheek by jowl with their neighbours.
The new look cabin was fine. We thought the glass fronted wall cupboards were rather strange. The bathroom was nicely appointed and when we got hot water the shower was good. It was kept immaculately clean.
This is an industrial port with some market traders and nothing else. No taxis or buses other than the tour coaches/.
